Dr. Robi Ludwig is an American psychotherapist and award winning reporter who has been appearing on broadcast media since 1997.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title= Robi Ludwig )〕 Dr. Ludwig’s extensive academic credentials include a doctorate in psychology (Psy.D) from California Southern University. She also holds a post-masters certificate in advanced clinical work from Hunter College, a master's degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Cedar Crest College.
Her practical experience as a psychotherapist began in 1988 when she worked as a counselor for patients with severe psychiatric disorders in both clinical settings and in her private practice. Her role as a counselor allowed her to treat all forms of mental illness, substance abuse, grieving, sexual identity issues, job stress, emotional and sexual abuse problems as well as the more common social and parenting issues. Dr. Ludwig currently focuses on working with adult individuals who suffer from various issues such as addiction, relationship struggles, problems of transition along with character, mood and thought disorder. Her treatment style utilizes cognitive behavior therapy(CBT) and Solution Focused Brief therapy(SFBT).
Currently, she is a contributor for Investigation Discovery “Scorned”,〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title= Scorned: Love Kills )〕 which presents in depth reenactments and analysis of marital homicide stories. She also hosted two seasons of The Learning Channel reality show, “One Week to Save Your Marriage” 〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title= One Week To Save Your Marriage )〕 as well as GSN’s reality game show, “Without Prejudice?”. Dr. Robi Ludwig helps audiences and guests understand the complexities of the human condition and mind.
In the late 1990s she worked as a psychology reporter for WETM-TV, the NBC affiliate in Elmira, New York. She wrote, produced and hosted a weekly show called Real Talk. Real Talk was a live call-in show covering psychological and self-help topics. This show launched her into the national spotlight for her insightful analysis into real people’s issues.
Her latest professional venture is her book, ’Till Death Do Us Part: Love, Marriage and the Mind of the Killer Spouse”, written with Matt Birkbeck and is published with Atria books and it came out March 2006. The book presents psychological profiles of notorious killer spouses. Ludwig reveals and analyzes ten killer personality types by using such famous examples from Scott Peterson and Clara Harris to Rabbi Fred Neulander and Betty Broderick.
